Get to know Lucas Church, Lydia Ship, and Dionne Irving


Lucas Church’s work has appeared in several journals, most recently the Literarian and the Southern Indiana Review. He placed first in CL’s Fiction Contest in 2010 and 2011 and second in 2009. He’s currently pursuing an MFA from North Carolina State University. Links to his work can be found at www.lucaschurch.com.



Lydia Ship’s fiction has appeared in more than 30 literary journals and magazines, including American Short Fiction, Hobart, Pindeldyboz, Quick Fiction, Staccato, Night Train, and the White Whale Review; her flash fiction has been a finalist in contests held by American Short Fiction, PANK, the Sonora Review, and the Calvino Prize, as well as nominated for the Pushcart. Dionne Irving’s work has appeared in the Missouri Review, the Crab Orchard Review, the New Delta Review, and Carve magazine. In 2009, she was awarded the Hurston/Wright Award for College Writers and last year placed third in CL’s Fiction Contest. She is co-founder of the True Story! Reading Series and is currently at work on a novel as she completes her Ph.D. in Creative Writing at Georgia State University.
