Cover Story - Terror in ATL

Celebrate the scariest time of the year with Professor Morte, haunted houses, and more

Halloween is one of the best times of the year. When else can one don costumes, eat candy, tiptoe through haunted houses, carve pumpkins, and watch scary movies? Of all the holidays, it’s the most in-your-face and unapologetic, and we like that about it. On the eve of this unholy night we present a guide to help you get as much out of the last few days of the month as possible. We spoke to former Silver Scream Spookshow host and Monstrosity Championship Wrestling’s “Scareman of the Gore” Professor Morté to get his top five spooky ATL picks; sent Creative Loafing scribes screaming and shaking through seven local haunts; caught up with killer cover band the Ted Kennedys; and pulled together a list of Halloween events, from hay rides and trick-or-treating to adults-only parties to help you celebrate in style. So throw on your best costume and go wildly into that good night.
