Souper Jenny Westside Aug. 10, 2017, 7 p.m. Ode to Israeli Cuisine Chefs Jenny Levison and Linda Harrell of Souper Jenny are organizing a the first of two popup dinners celebrating Israeli cuisine. The dinners include a wide selection of appetizers and entrees, including hummus, lamb shishlik, grilled branzino, Persian rice and several vegetable dishes. A portion of the proceeds benefit Levison’s soup kitchen charity, the Zadie Project. The second dinner will be held Aug. 24. Details

Better Half Aug. 10, 2017, 7 p.m. Half + Half Dinner Chefs Sean Allen and Spencer Bennett, former partners at Better Half, are collaborating on a six-course dinner with wine pairings. The menu includes young mustard greens, diver scallop crudo, roasted tilefish and griddled duck breast. For dessert, blackberry and roasted onion cobbler and guava galettes with creme fraiche ice cream will be served. Guests may also attend a preliminary appetizer and cocktail hour and a separate “Aftermath” networking event for chefs and food service workers post-dinner. Details
