Newk’s Eatery Dec. 4, 2017, 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Newk’s Eatery Openings Newk’s Eatery is bringing four more locations to Georgia. Smyrna and Albany locations will start serving soups, salads, and sandwiches. Expect Canton (2041 Cummings Hywy.) and Columbus to have those free breadsticks, olives, and pickles. Details

Atkins Park Dec. 6, 2017, 5 p.m. 12th Annual Santa Ride Grab your festive biking shorts for Atkins Park’s annual Santa Ride. The 10-mile ride through the streets of Virginia Highland honors former owner Warren Bruno, who lost his fight with lymphoma in 2012. There is no entry fee but a minimum donation of $25 is suggested. Proceeds benefit the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Details
