SEE & DO: Dave Chappelle

Legendary comedian stops by the Tabernacle for an eight-day stay

[|No value assigned]He’s Tyrone Biggums, he’s Silky Johnson, he’s Rick James (bitch), he’s Dave Chappelle. His ingenious comedy on race, class and pop culture was the nerve center of Comedy Central with his much lauded sketch show, “Chappelle’s Show.” He has one of the most talked about HBO specials, “Dave Chappelle’s Block Party,” and recently made stand-up history when Netflix ordered three new specials from Chappelle, two of which premiered in March. While the world watches with envy as stories of Chappelle dropping in at random venues across the U.S. pop up around the web, ATLiens can stop drooling over Instagram shots and see the master in person as he comes to the Tabernacle for a surprisingly (and wonderfully) extensive eight-day stay. Even with 12 shows on the calendar, the race to get tickets won’t last long. $69-$275. 7 p.m. Sun.-Mon., June 11-19. Tabernacle, 152 Luckie St. N.W. 404-659-9022. www.tabernacleatl.com.
