A MODERN DAY PICASSO: ARTlanta’s mascot, Arty M. Wolf, ready to whip up a masterpiece

Follow the yellow brick road to find the wizard of ARTlanta... Tyree Smith, founder of ARTlanta Gallery, as he prepares for the debut of the ARTlanta Fair. The four-day festival is a multifaceted combo of it all — bringing elements of an art show, the carnival experience and live music. The festival will feature works from more than 50 visual artists, artistic performances, amusement rides, games, and live music. In an effort to continue the development of interactive art experiences in ATL, Smith has orchestrated this multisensory smorgasbord to celebrate and fuel the imaginative spirit of pop culture within the city. Participating artists include Miya Bailey, Ebo Haze, Nicola Badila, Rob Regis, Ceaux, EuGene Byrd, Lennox Ave, Keef Cross, J. Barber, Rod Parker, Markers and more. While you take in such artistic mastery, look out for musical performances by DJs Papa Ratchet, Ooh Lala, and Fly Guy.

Housed in Fort McPherson, the ARTlanta has partnered with the Book Bank Foundation, and asks attendees to donate art supplies to benefit underprivileged children and communities. ARTlanta welcomes art lovers, music lovers, and carnival lovers of all ages. Kid-friendly events will be held every day of the event from Noon-7 p.m., and themed night events will be held for attendees, age 18+, from 8-11 p.m.

$5. Thurs.-Sun., April 12-15. Fort McPherson, 1379 Bartow St. S.W. 478-227-6605. www.artlantagallery.com.
