Lou Barlow of Sebadoh, Sentridoh, and Dinosaur Jr. fame plays an evening of solo acoustic music tonight (Fri., April 20) at Nine Mile Circle. It’s in a recording studio near Piedmont Park, just off of Monroe Drive, so you know it’s going to sound right. Barlow is a consummate performer, and a gifted songwriter. From the noise collage of Dinosaur Jr.’s “Poledo,” and the ecstatic indie rock of Sebadoh’s “On the Rebound,” to the passionate introspection of 2015’s “Brace the Wave,” Barlow has raised the bar high for frazzled songwriting since way back when SST was still a cool label. Tonight’s show offers a rare chance to catch him performing live in an intimate, low-key setting, taking requests, telling stories, and playing for about an hour and a half. Maybe two hours. The online ticket sales end at 6 p.m., but tickets will be available at the door.

$26.04-$$107.62 (for dinner with Lou and his father). 7 p.m., Nine Mile Circle, 1405 Dutch Valley Place NE.
