The Southern Renaissance is a 21st century social and artistic rebirth taking place in Atlanta, Georgia. This poetry event embraces the ambiance of a 1920s speakeasy, complete with defiant flappers, men in slick fedoras and sassy cigar girls. Here, poets Moody Black and Journee the Poetess speak power to words draped in interpretative performances and straight-ahead jazz to announce that the time has returned for self-determination and group expression. Come dressed in your best vintage flair to Orange Box Theater @ Mark SQuared Studios in Tucker, including flapper dresses, zoot suits, feather boas, headbands, pinstriped suits and fedoras.
