A resolution to create the “Buford Highway Cultural Corridor” was introduced by local officials at a Feb. 18 press conference. The intent is for the cities of Brookhaven, Chamblee and Doraville to collaborate on marketing efforts for arts and cultural events in the area, and to advance capital improvement projects along the corridor. Public art and an annual international festival are part of the plans. “It gives us the opportunity to honor and celebrate the heritage and contributions of the cultural and ethnically diverse community of this vibrant area,” said Brookhaven council member John Funny. reporternewspapers.net
