In Georgia, landlords can raise the rent by any amount they wish. There is no legal limit or cap on rent. But the government can cap rents! This is called rent control. It should be illegal for landlords to raise rents on tenants by hundreds of dollars overnight.

For 39 years, the state of Georgia has maintained a ban on rent control. On July 8, join tenant leaders, grassroots organizations, and working class people from across Georgia who will unite to demand the repeal of the state ban and to fight for housing justice for all. Let’s build a state-wide independent, mass movement to win rent control and more!
