Cash recorded Americana albums starting in 1979, before the genre was even a thing, and has used her distinctive voice in service of alternatively catchy and enigmatic songs all sung with beguiling honesty. She has at least one classic in 1993’s The Wheel, just reissued for its 30th anniversary.
